South Park began in 1992 when Trey Parker and Matt Stone, then film students at the University of Colorado, created an animated short called Jesus vs. Frosty. The crudely-made film featured prototypical versions of the kids of South Park, including a character resembling Cartman but called 'Kenny' and an unnamed character that resembles Kyle bringing a murderous snowman to life with a magic hat. 2008 was the 13th season, with 3 more seasons under contract.
Eric Theodore Cartman (voiced by Trey Parker) is a character in South Park. He is arguably the most well-known and recognizable character of the four central nine year old boy stars. Trey Parker and Matt Stone were perplexed about how, nowadays, it would be impossible to put a character like Archie Bunker on television. They thought, however, that if he was an animated nine-year-old boy, it might just be allowed - and thus Cartman was born. BEEEEEEEFCAKE!!!
